Children’s misconceptions in measuring with a Ruler

In our measurement week, we are discussing measuring with equipments and accuracy.

Effective questioning should help children gain their own learning experience with our support. (What do the big markings on the ruler represent? How about the small markings? Where did you start measuring from? Where should you stop measuring)

We always start introducing cm first and keep them practicing until when they are confident then we can begin to introduce mm as fractions and decimals.
